Fermoy Adair is a small primary school with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We cater for Junior infants to 6th Class. We are a co-educational school under Church of Ireland management, children from all faiths and none are welcome.
If you want more information, would like to visit the school or wish to apply for a place in Fermoy Adair National School, please email or call the school.
Fermoy Adair Primary School is reputed to be the oldest primary school in Ireland still in operation. However, you'll be glad to know that we're now in a modern school on Greenhill, a beautiful site overlooking Fermoy, and our school offers a well resourced, progressive environment for education.
There are 2 mainstream teachers and a learning support/resource teacher. From time to time the students are taught by specialised teachers in areas such as French, G.A.A., other sports areas (hockey, gymnastics), drama, music and art. We also have regular visits from Heritage in School experts. (History, Geography and Science)
The teachers enjoy the challenge of teaching. In presenting the Revised Curriculum, great efforts are taken to include an awareness of, and an interest in, the world about us.
Care is taken to discover and promote each pupil’s strengths and abilities. Encouragement is the key to building confidence – a fundamental necessity for happiness and success in life.
Fermoy Adair School is a co-educational school under Church of Ireland management, but children from all faiths and none are welcome. Classes range from junior infants to sixth class.
Mission Statement - Written by Fermoy Adair Pupils:
Fermoy Adair aims to be an inclusive school where uniqueness, different cultures and beliefs are celebrated and where a safe environment to learn and grow is fostered, where learning in different ways, free-thinking and being different is encouraged.
We promote the health of body and mind; this is just as important as learning. We strive to create a school where everyone is happy, welcomed and treated fairly, where respect between students and teachers is encouraged and where we are courteous and considerate of others.
Through a wide range of subjects and activities we aim to learn about the world around us in practical but fun ways. We endeavour to encourage parents to be actively involved in their child’s development in school.
