The ceremony will be followed by refreshments in the school.
Many thanks to Diana Buckley, Myrtle Forde, Endja O'Donoghue and Carla Silva who have come into school every Wednesday to help the children with their knitting and crocheting. The school doll is now beautifully adorned with knitted garments, and chickens, teddies and scarves are appearing out of balls of wool kindly donated to the school. The children are also designing the most original and creative silk scarves for their mums. I think the children are enjoying their craft sessions and the camaraderie that accompanies them.
We welcome the following new people on to our staff in school: Ms Mags Keating - sharing resource teacher, Trudi Bogan - cleaner, and Sean O'Donnell - caretaker. We hope they will enjoy working with the rest of the team.
World Day of Prayer Service, written by the women in Cuba, was held in assembly. Each year this affords the children an opportunity to consider life in another part of the world and to unite with children across the globe in remembering the people who live there.
