Diocesan Service: Many thanks to Diana Buckley who brought 5th and 6th class down to Bandon. The children enjoyed their time.
1916 Project: Councillor Kieran McCarthy visited the school to encourage the children with their history project. As usual his talk was very interesting.
The Million Steps: Jacinta and friends brought the longed for ‘step counters’ to monitor the million steps the children would take in the month of October. This fabulous initiative encourages children to jump, dance, hop and run for much of the day, and the target of 10,000 steps per day is exceeded by many children before they leave school at 2.30 p.m..
Medicins Sans Frontiere: Well done to the children and their parents for helping to raise €320 for MSF at a cake sale in the school.
Team Hope: Christine Dobson spoke to the children about ‘Team Hope’. Each year the wonderful lady raises awareness of the need for us to love and care for children we don’t know. The kids thoroughly enjoy watching how she fills her shoebox, and are highly motivated to fill their own boxes.
