- In 2015, UCC celebrates the bicentenary of George Boole, and as part of the commemoration, scientists from Moorepark came to Adair to speak to the children about this mathematical genius whose work with binary numbers underpins all computer technology. They also spoke about the good and bad bacteria in the digestive system, and gave the children opportunities to swab test their environment.
- Many thanks to the Verling family who brought baby chicks and a cute little lamb to school, and to the Boyle/O'Mahony family who brought two, fine, fat bonhams from Moorepark to school. It was a wonderful chance for children to see, touch, feel and smell these creatures.
- During this fabulous week, the children were invited to visit the Buckley's dairy farm near Castletownroche, and they had a opportunity to see calves, weanlings, cows, bull and hens. Then it was off to Bridgetown Abbey for an Easter egg treasure hunt. Many thanks to Mark, Diana, Olwyn and Aisling for their hospitality, and to the parents who chauffeured the entire school out for such an educational day.
- In the swimming gala for primary school. Congratulations to William and Peter Verling Conor Gibson and Luke O'Mahony who brought back the trophy for best small school. The children did exceptionally well and we are very proud of them.
- Once again, a huge thank you to Noel and Lisa who correct the children's postal bible school answers during the year, and travel to all the schools around the country with bible stories, songs and gifts. These are wonderful people, and our school children love when they visit, and are blessed by their faithfulness to God.
- World Day of Prayer was celebrated this month for Polynesia, and the children were challenged to consider that wealth from tourism isn't fairly distributed to those who work in the industry, and that many children are driven into work that is not child appropriate.
