The Covid-19 virus has caused unprecedented disruption to our normal routines and ways of living. As we work together through these difficult times, my thoughts and prayers are with our families. I urge you to keep yourselves safe and well in the coming weeks. By working together and heeding the advice of the medical professionals, we will get through this.
I know that many students are anxious at this time and if we can assist in any way, please let at us at Fermoy Adair know. I understand that their world has been turned upside down. I'm sure that they are missing friends and getting out and about. The absence of teachers and friends, I'm sure, makes completing work more challenging but you are encouraged to persevere. You have been working so hard all year and especially in the past number of weeks, for that we at Fermoy Adair thank you.
Our staff have been working diligently to send work and suggestions for activities and will continue to do so for as long as is necessary. We understand that every family situation differs so we support and appreciate whatever each family can do.
Our parents are doing a wonderful job at this time. They have been supportive and encouraging. We are grateful to the parents for taking on this new role and we look forward to have an 'Appreciation Celebration' when the time comes.
Aside from the work that is assigned to you by teachers, if time allows, I would also suggest that you do some or all of the following:-
- Have fun with your family - play games, bake, read.....
- Take time to do things that relax you.
- Talk to friends and relatives on the phone.
- Get outside and exercise if safe to do so.
These are unprecedented times and the situation is unfolding by the day. I will update the school website with any information pertaining to academic studies and Department of Education and Skills updates.
On this note, the Department of Education and Skills has made the decision to cancel standardised testing for primary schools for the 2019/2020 school year.
Please take care.

Mrs. Mutabazi
