Great news this month as we discover that Andrea Quin has been chosen to be the new principal of Fermoy Adair School. Andrea got her first teaching position in Fermoy Adair NS when she qualified from the Church of Ireland College of Education. She taught in the junior classroom for many years and when I (Heather Smith) took a sabbatical in 2010/11, Andrea became acting principal. Hugely popular with children, parents and staff, everybody was very sad when she left to become principal in Lismore. However, all is changed, and now we are very pleased to welcome her back seven years later. This summer, she's getting married, so it will be a busy year for her. We're thankful to God for Andrea. May she feel supported in her work by all those around her, and may God bless her as her life stretches ahead of her.
We're also delighted to welcome Rev Gary Paulsen to Fermoy Union of Parishes. We're delighted that he wishes to take an active part in sharing the gospel in school, and also in strengthening the links between parish and school.... a vital element for the sustainability of the school. Many thanks to Rev William Montgomery who has led assembly on Fridays for the past few years. He has been a cornerstone in the school, and we look forward to his continued Christian input into the school each week.
